Stability

The sulfonation product of naphthalene is related to temperature, and α-naphthalenesulfonic acid is obtained at a low temperature, and β-naphthalenesulfonic acid is mainly obtained at a relatively high temperature.
 
2. Naphthalene has less water solubility and is not easily absorbed, so its toxicity is not too strong. Inhalation of concentrated naphthalene vapor or naphthalene powder can promote vomiting, discomfort, and headache. In particular, damage to the cornea, causing small blisters and punctate turbidity, can also make the skin inflamed, and sometimes can cause pathological changes in the lungs, but also damage the kidneys, causing hematuria, but not carcinogenic. The maximum allowable concentration of naphthalene in the workplace is 10 x 10-6.
